Synopsis
Broadcast in the Play for Today slot, this was the second of four plays in which various people try to find new ways of life.
At 19, Alec finds himself tied down by his domineering mother and imprisoned in a boring job at a sawmill. He decides to use his annual holiday hostelling in the Highlands in a bid to escape and find the better life he feels must be out there somewhere.
