Synopsis
“Will You Love Me Tomorrow” was inspired by a true story.
The protagonist is a 10-year-old girl who was jailed for murder. After spending eleven years behind bars, Jackie escapes with her worldlier girlfriend and they end up at a seaside resort where they befriend a couple of young lads. Naively looking for love and affection Jackie clings to an ideal: ‘What I want most in the whole world is to be in love and to be loved’. But reality can be more harsh and unforgiving.
This beautifully crafted poignant drama was part of the BBC’s Screen 2 season, which developed and produced many of the best original television dramas when ‘audience share’ had no value whatsoever. Remember then?
